What exactly is teletherapy?
Teletherapy, also known as online therapy, is a form of therapy via telephone or two-way video conferencing. It’s a great way for those of us who have busy schedules, for example college students, working moms or those who travel for work, to still get the mental health therapy they need and deserve. Teletherapy and online therapy is also a great option for those who may feel more comfortable talking over the phone versus to someone face to face.
For your convenience, Olive Branch Therapy Group offers secure and confidential teletherapy or online video therapy sessions for those living in New Jersey, where our therapists are licensed.
Is teletherapy right for me?
Teletherapy is just like any other counseling or therapy, except for the fact that you are not in the same room as your therapist. It is simply a matter of convenience for you. Marriage counseling, couples counseling, depression and anxiety treatment and more can all be done through teletherapy. If you feel as if the therapy you require isn’t right for remote therapy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us and ask.
What are some of the benefits of teletherapy or online therapy?
Besides convenience, teletherapy with the team at Olive Branch Therapy Group provides:
- Access for those who may have limited mobility.
- Extra privacy for those uncomfortable in public.
- Access for those who live outside the Brunswick area.
- Extra comfort to those who may have a harder time talking face-to-face.
What technology do I need for teletherapy?
Our therapists use a HIPAA compliant teleconference company that is secure and confidential. To participate in teletherapy or online therapy, you will need:
- An internet-connected computer, tablet, or smartphone
- Webcam or built-in camera on the device (if you wish to speak face to face)
- A comfortable place where you can talk in private without interruptions
