Meet Amelia Ortman, LAC (she/her/hers):

Hello! I’m a therapist at Olive Branch Therapy Group and a licensed associate counselor. I received my bachelor of arts degree in Communication from The College of New Jersey and my Master of Art graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling from The College of New Jersey. I’ve been in practice since 2021.

My Therapy Specialties:

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, teens, and adults dealing with anxiety, OCD, school issues, body image and self esteem issues.

I also have a particular interest in working with those who struggle with Complex family trauma, anxiety, OCD and depression.

What drew me to this work:

I love helping others and acting as the calm, confident ear in their lives. I have also sought therapy for myself and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I found the help I needed, but I also found a career where I can help others far more than I ever imagined. I worked as a student assistant counselor in a middle school for the first year of my career. In this position, I counseled students through traumatic life events, addiction issues, and mental health struggles.

My style:

My style is warm, direct and client focused. I will always work collaboratively with the client while integrating cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT.) The key to long-term therapeutic success is integrating and reinforcing mental health tools in and out of session.

Services I offer:

In-person individual and family counseling sessions for residents of New Jersey.
