Meet Anita Osinski, LAC:
Hello! I’m a therapist at Olive Branch Therapy Group and a licensed associate counselor. I received my bachelor of arts degree in Applied Psychology from Pace University, and my Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. My previous experience includes working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital , as well as within a psychiatric crisis unit.
My Therapy Specialties
I have experience working with a wide range of clients, including individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, extreme anger, psychotic symptoms, as well as suicidal ideation. I also work with individuals on attachment concerns, relationship instability, and complex family issues. I have a special interest in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals.
What Drew me to This Work
Like many others in this field, it was my own struggles with mental health that influenced my decision to become a therapist. After I sought therapy for myself as a teen, I had a renewed sense of self and a new passion in mental health counseling. I knew the positive impact that having someone to truly hear me had on me, and I knew that I wanted to be able to do the same for others. This work fills me with a sense of accomplishment, a warm heart, and purpose. I know it’s cliche but helping others, helps me.
My Style
My goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment where my clients are met with a compassionate and non-judgmental atmosphere. I work collaboratively with the client while also integrating both cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT) as well as dialectical behavioral techniques (DBT). This allows me to help my clients accumulate coping skills and techniques that they can utilize outside of the therapy session.
My goal is to be able to provide my clients with a space where they feel heard and understood, and where they can safely process their feelings and experiences.
Services I Offer
In-person individual counseling sessions
