Deborah Giglio, LCSW

The first step in the counseling process is identifying that there is an issue to be dealt with. By reaching out to the Olive Branch Therapy Group you have taken the next step and I am glad that you did!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 25 years experience in the field. I have had the privilege to work in an inpatient hospital-based setting, several outpatient based settings, one in which I provided spiritual counseling and in a school-based setting. I have worked side by side with many psychiatrists and have a solid knowledge base regarding psychotropic medications.

I have been married for almost 25 years and have two adult children. I have experienced first hand how Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Depression, Bipolar Disorder and Substance Abuse can affect the ones we love.

It has been said that “Social Work” is a calling; I cannot deny this as I have been drawn to the field and have helped others from an early age. Being able to work with clients is a privilege and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

I attended Rutgers University for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I co-authored and published a study with Dr. Albert Goss (Rutgers University) on preschool children’s knowledge of emotions.

Although my area of expertise is working with children, I also see families, couples and individuals with an array of issues, including, but not limited to ADHD, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety ,Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Marital Discord and Life Transitions.

In working with clients, I utilize various techniques including Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Executive Functioning techniques, Relaxation and Mindfulness activities.

I am excited to meet with you and/or your child so that we can begin the healing process!
