Meet Destiny Murray, LAMFT (she/her/hers):

Hello! I’m a therapist at Olive Branch Therapy Group and a Licensed associate marriage and family therapist. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Kean University and my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Kean University. My previous experience was working at an outpatient co-occurring program for substance use and mental health disorders, and assisting families with crisis interventions.

My Therapy Specialties:

I specialize in working with children, adolescents and adults facing issues of low self esteem, negative self talk, anxiety, depression, panic disorder, substance use disorder and relational issues.

I am particularly interested in assisting families and individuals to navigate racial and cultural barriers through systemic change. As a woman of color, I truly enjoy working with BIPOC to support empowerment in their healing journey.

What drew me to this work:

I believe that our purpose as human beings involves the ability to feel connected to ourselves and others.

My goal is to help individuals, couples, and families find their way back to connectedness. Feeling heard, understood, and valued is something that every person deserves to experience. In my own experience with therapy, I learned that our feelings and emotions make us unique, and vulnerability is our strength.

My style:

I am warm, compassionate, understanding, and challenging. I incorporate DBT focused interventions, solution focused, narrative family therapy, structural family therapy along with other treatment modalities. My goal is to provide a safe space for my clients to share their own personal experience in a non judgemental space. I like the saying “come as you are.” I enjoy a collaborative approach to therapy assisting my clients with finding the right pace in their journey, and finding that healing isn’t linear, and that’s okay too.
