Meet Heather Nicholas, LPC (she/her/hers):
Hello! I’m a therapist at Olive Branch Therapy Group and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Saint Peter’s University. I have been in practice in the mental health field since 2015.
My Therapy Specialties:
I specialize in working with children (9 or older), adolescents, young adults, adults, and families dealing with:
- Anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD, trauma, substance use, relationship issues, LGBTQ, and life stressors.
- I also have a particular interest in working with those with co-occurring disorders.
What drew me to this work:
I have always been drawn to the idea of helping others be the best versions of themselves. For many years, I have been an Emergency Medical Technician helping people with their physical injuries and illnesses. Years of working in the medical field prompted me to want to become more involved in the mental health field to assist in providing a safe space to assist with growth and development.
My Style:
I am very person centered when it comes to my approach to therapy. I believe every person is different and no two people share the same journey. I create a therapeutic environment that feels safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic to allow you to work through the areas of difficulty in your life in a supportive environment. I use a variety of evidence-based practices to assist each person I work with based on your individual needs. This is your journey to changing your life. I am here to be your guide and assist you in building coping skills, improving self-awareness, and building greater insight into various life situations.
Services I offer:
In-person individual and family therapy.
