Meet Jessica Stiskin, LPC (she/her/hers):
Hello! I’m a therapist at Olive Branch Therapy Group and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I received my undergraduate degree from Sacred Heart University majoring in Psychology, and my graduate degree from William Paterson University, majoring in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. I’ve been a practicing therapist since 2013.
My Therapy Specialties:
I specialize in working with pre-adolescents (10 and older), adolescents, young adults, and families dealing with:
- Anxiety, depression, issues related to self-esteem and self-acceptance, interpersonal relationship issues, trauma, anger management, stress management, behavioral concerns, and ADHD
- I also have a particular interest in working with those who have co-occurring diagnoses (mental health and substance use)
What drew me to this work:
I’ve always been drawn to assisting others with recognizing their true potential, and empowering them to use their innate strengths to achieve it. I consider it an honor and privilege as a therapist, to work with people who have the desire to be genuinely happy with their lives and to assist them with achieving their true happiness. I’ve always been curious of people’s individual stories, which is why I believe that therapy cannot be “one-size-fits-all.” Everyone has a unique story that is special to them, and therefore my approach in therapy is tailored to best suit my clients’ specific needs.
My style:
I believe in the immeasurable power of self-acceptance. My passion is assisting my clients with learning how to accept themselves and their life experiences (fortunate and unfortunate). The relationship you have with yourself is what I believe, most crucial to your happiness, and other aspects of your life are significantly influenced by the quality of this relationship. I also believe that our therapeutic relationship is the key ingredient in my clients’ achievement of self-growth and self-acceptance. My primary focus is creating a solid therapeutic relationship with my clients, by fostering a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment necessary for my clients to “meet” themselves and to explore what is making them feel “stuck.” I believe my clients have the answers and tools already inside of them which are necessary to help them move away from feeling stuck and closer to growth and self-acceptance. My mission is to collaboratively work with my clients, to identify those answers and tools that they already possess, which will help them to achieve true happiness with themselves, and therefore their lives, as they so well deserve.
Services I offer:
In-person individual and family therapy.
