Meet Julia Ferris, LCSW, LCADC (she/her/hers):

Hello! I’m a therapist at Olive Branch Therapy Group and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Rutgers University. I have been a therapist since 2019. My previous experience was in long-term outpatient substance use and mental health treatment, though I have additionally worked in inpatient care for substance use. I am currently completing my License for Alcohol and Drug Counseling (LCADC).

My Therapy Specialties:

I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, long-term substance use recovery, ADD/ADHD, grief, relationship challenges and codependency, 12-step recovery, self-esteem issues, and life transitions.

I have additional interest in working with those who identify within the LGBTQ+ community.

What drew me to this work:

Not unlike many within this field, my own experiences with mental health influenced my decision to become a therapist. The empathy and compassion these experiences helped me to develop has driven my desire to help others in any way they need without assuming an “expert” role, as most of us simply desire an ear to listen.

My style:

I am a very firm believer that my clients are the experts of themselves and I am privileged to be a part of your growth and transformation. I strive to provide a warm, safe space for all and bring my genuine self to all sessions. I am a big believer of connection through humor when appropriate. My sessions include compassionate direct feedback, encouragement of new thought patterns, and curiosity rather than assumptions of your experience. I am excited to learn about my clients and collaborate on their next steps in life.

Services I offer:

In-person individual, couple, and family therapy.
