Meet Kaitlynn Haugen, LCSW (she/her/hers):

Hello! I’m a therapist at Olive Branch Therapy Group and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my undergraduate degree from SUNY Geneseo and my graduate degree from New York University. I graduated with a Masters in Social Work.

My Therapy Specialties:

I specialize in working with teens, young adults and adults dealing with anxiety and depression. I have experience in working with a wide range of clients with varying levels of intensity of issues that they are dealing with. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques and a person centered approach in my work with clients. A large part of my work is focused around helping others to understand how their pasts impact them in the present and how they are capable of taking care of themselves with a sense of kindness and compassion.

What drew me to this work:

Similarly to many other social workers, I was drawn to the field of social work by my own experiences with complex family dynamics and the impact on mental health. Engaging in my own practices to benefit my wellness and building up my own toolbox over the years helped me to realize how much I wanted to be able to assist others in doing the same. I gain a sense of pride and fulfillment in seeing the progress that clients make in their own wellness and the changes that they are able to see in themselves.

My style:

I strive to be compassionate, empathic and most of all empowering with a sense of humor to bring lightness when appropriate to difficult times. I also aim to help others take an objective look at their situations and decide if how things are going is working for them in the way they want it to.

Services I offer:

In-person individual therapy
