Meet Lisa Zucker, LSW (she/her/hers):
My Therapy Specialties:
Hi, I’m Lisa and I am a therapist at Olive Branch Therapy Group. I received my Masters in Social Work from Stony Brook University and was licensed in 2003. I specialize in working with individuals, children/teens/families, and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, past family traumas, life transitions, health/illness, relationships, grief/loss, as well as self-growth issues.
I also have a particular understanding and interest in working with those who struggle with complex family trauma, including those from an Orthodox, Utra-Orthodox or a Modern Orthodox Jewish background, and those who struggle with religious identity from a secular Jewish or a mixed religious background. I use an internal family systems approach, as well as women’s empowerment using feminist and strengths-based approaches; and CBT/DBT and positive psychology techniques.
I am also Gottman trained for couple’s therapy, which is an evidence-based model that helps couples feel heard and understood by their partners while they build a lasting relationship. I also like to incorporate other couple’s and family modalities such as Imago, EFT and Communication theories into my work.
My style is warm, direct, empathic and collaborative. I also use an eclectic, humanistic and holistic approach, and I like to incorporate mindfulness, somatic and insight oriented therapies into my work as well. But mostly, I am guided by the individual client’s needs, desires and goals, while working together in therapy.
What drew me to this work:
I have 15 + years of experience in the field, and have always been an analytical thinker and good listener, someone who others felt they could confide in. I have also learned how to navigate struggles and issues through my own interpersonal life challenges and transitions as well as through my educational background and clinical experience. Through this, I have learned how to help others navigate and work through problems toward self-awareness and self-growth in order to be the healthiest version of themselves possible. I would love to be part of your journey toward inner happiness and emotional well-being.
Services I offer:
In-person individual, child/teen family and couple’s sessions to residents of New Jersey.
